Ballet

This week we had Ballet with Chloe who was a dance educator from  the Royal New Zealand Ballet.
Chloe taught us how to do ballet,she also taught us a dance step by step of the black swan
 New Zealand Ballet.Chloe taught us how to do ballet, she also taught a dance step by step of the 'Black Swan' 'White Swan'which is based on the original and famous ballet 'Swan  Lake' .
Chloes tip was "commit to the movements to get the best effect" which was what  I tried to do .
When we got hang of the steps we would prcatice with classical music which was  from  famous composer Tchaikovsky .Everyone tried their best since this was new to most people in our class and everyone worked very good together.
Thank you Mrs Jones for organizing the special ballet lesson and thank you to chloe for teaching us the black swan white swan dance.

Waltzing Matilda

In reading this week, we unpacked a very famous poem called Waltzing Matilda by Banjo Paterson. We created the main ideas of the poem, so we could understand more about it. The main ideas included 3 details, to back up the poem. There were words we learnt. Some of them are waltzing, which means walking on foot, matilda which means swag bag and billabong, which means waterhole.

Tech

This week at Tech we did an activity which was finding all the games that you play on paper and then you would have to pick one and think how you would be able to make the game 3D and what it would it be made of and what materials you would need to accomplish it.Then going on a app called Tinkercad.com which was were you were we had to practice how it would look using 3D shapes.

This at tech the we were working on making google slides  of games that make you think and label them,( for example) Chess which makes you think,after we had finished our DlO  we started on something  new which was drawing 3D sketches and we also learned about the word tone and tyhe different types of meaning of tone .We would draw our 3D shapes and then practice colouring the shape in three different tones using one colour .

Who am I ?

This week at Tech we started our new rotation ,we the year sevens are with Miss Ferguson .We have started on making a DLO called ME!! which is based on ourselves and what different things that we like and we are also learning about other peoples personality and what things they like and what they are interested in.

Literary Devices

  This week for reading our teacher challenged us to create a poster using a google document. We had to explain the definition of the words hyperbole, simile ,metaphor,Personification,Alliteration and Onomatopoeia. Using images an example and attributing the image as well .We used a table to organise the layout of the information ,and then we would colour the background.
