Nachos

For Food Tech on Wednesday, we made Vegetarian Nachos, the ingredients that we needed for this recipe was 1 onion,  a few baby tomatoes, corn chips, a can of kidney beans, a can of sweet corn, some grated cheese and some chopped up bacon and some sour cream to garnish.

The first step was to chop up the onions and chuck them them into the pan, next was to cut up the baby tomatoes into quarters and add them into the pan as well and cook them along with the onions. When cooking them we were asked not to overcook them, because we needed to only soften them, but not make them to brown and crispy but nice and tender. Once we were finished with the tomatoes and onions we put it into a small bowl and set it aside for the time being.

The next step was to cook our two strips of bacon, when cooking them we were asked  to make that we cooked them properly and and didn't burn them. When the bacon was finally cooked, we had chopped them up into nice little pieces.

Then the third step was to get our can of kidney beans and drain the brine out, we also put our sweet corn in a bowl to make sure it was ready for the preparation of the nachos.

When we were finally ready to assemble our nachos, we got our individual trays of corn chips and sprinkled on some of the kidney beans, next was to also sprinkle the corn onto the chips, we then put it into the oven in order to cook the kidney beans and the corn.

When the it was time to being our trays out we finally put our fried onions and tomato mixture on top of the kidney beans and corn, then we sprinkled some of the grated cheese on top our nachos and added our chopped up bacon as well and put it into the oven a second  in order to melt the cheese.

While waiting for our nachos, we tidied up or kitchen and made sure it was spic and span, when the nachos were finally ready for eating we garnished it with a dollop of sour cream, before eating we first took our picture and smiled for the camera, then we got to enjoy our dish.
